iPad 1 Price Cut | Truth or Fiction
Even though it does not make sense, A new iPad 1 and new iPad 2 cost about the same.

Well at least for the base units (16 GB WiFi) this is so. In some of the other configurations the iPad 1 might be cheaper, but usually the difference is not enough in my opinion to get the iPad 1. Either get the iPad 2 or if you do not need a full blown tablet computer Amazon’s new Kindle Fire is a far cheaper option.
What is The Market iPad 1Price for the 16GB WiFi Only?
Surprisingly the WiFi only version is not always sold at a discount. If you want to buy the iPad 1 16GB WiFi only model, you will often find that it is being sold for the same price as a new iPad 2 16GB WiFi only model. Please note if you take the time to look around and/or are lucky, it is still possible to get it at significant discount. But at the same time, there are many sellers that are selling it for same price and sometimes even more then the official price for the iPad 2 16GB WiFi of $499. So when shopping for this model, one needs to make sure you don’t get burned and end up paying more then what the iPad 2 is being sold for.
Hard to believe, well check this out: The original iPad 1 price for the iPad 16GB WiFi was $499 just as it is for the Apple iPad 2 16GB WiFi which you can get at the Apple store (free shipping), while the cheapest price for a new iPad 1 16GB WiFi sold on Amazon (by an affiliated seller, i.e. not by Amazon itself) is $420 + $6.49 shipping = $426.49, which is $72.51 less then the iPad 1 model, which is not too bad, and depending on your finances and/or need, you may go for try it. But there are other sellers in the Amazon market place that are trying to sell the same model for over $500! and it must be working, or they would have slashed their prices a long time ago. Maybe I just don’t get it, has the iPad 1 16GB WiFi become a collectors item or something? A lot of these sellers are featured sellers, so their listings appear first, even before cheaper prices, so if you want to buy at a cheaper price you will need to scroll down to get to the regular sellers listing. The iPad 1 16GB WiFi+3G is more reasonably priced and you should save at least $50 if that is what you want.
Which iPad 1 Price gives you the Best Value?
iPad 1 price varies depending on model, but the 1Pad 1 64GB is probably the best value
When it comes to the iPad 1 32GB and the iPad 64GB models you are always able to save. The savings are about $50-$100 for the iPad 1 32GB WiFi only, about $150-$200 for the iPad 1 64GB WiFi only, over$200 for the iPad 1 32GB WiFi+3G and over $300 for the iPad 1 64GB WiFi+3G.
The price difference between the iPad 1 32GB WiFi only and the iPad 1 64GB is negligible, so you might as well go for the 64GB and have greater storage capacity. This is even more crazy with the iPad 1 WiFi+3G, here all models are also about the same price, so if you need to have 3G (aT&T only, remember) and are buying an iPad 1, get the 64GB.
So we can say that getting either the iPad 1 64GB, whether it is the WiFi only or the WiFi+3G is the best iPad 1 price savings.
Whatever the model, always check to see if the iPad 1 price actually helps you to save on the iPad 2 price
Other Ways to Get Great Savings on the iPad 1 Price
So in n general, it is true, the iPad 1 price cut is still available for most models. But you may end up paying more than you should if if you buy a a 16GB WiFi only, or any other model.
